All dermal fillers are not alike. The right one for you depends on the aesthetic work you want done on a particular part of your face. For a few people, allergies or other medical issues might rule out one type of filler, but another product works just fine. At Enhanced Images Medical, we offer our clients several dermal fillers from which to choose. After an approximately 30 minute session, you’ll look noticeably refreshed and rejuvenated.

Juvederm

Juvederm contains hyaluronic acid, a natural, moisture-retaining substance found in skin. This filler is especially effective for filling in those small lines around the eyes and mouth. A Juvederm treatment may last a year. If you suffer from serious allergies, Juvederm isn’t the right filler for you.

Radiesse

Radiesse consists of minute, calcium-based “microspheres,” which resemble minerals in your body. As a water-based injectable, it smoothes skin while stimulating your body’s natural collagen production. Collagen, the body’s most abundant protein, is crucial for maintaining firm skin. The FDA has approved Radiesse for treatment of moderate folds and wrinkles. These include:

  • Chin wrinkles
  • Mouth corners – wrinkles that can give you a frowning appearance
  • Smile lines – the lines from nose to mouth that deepen with age.

The effects can last up to two years, although one year is more common. You may experience slight bruising or redness at the injection site, although this should vanish in a day or so. Radiesse is also not recommended for people with severe allergies.

Restylane

FDA-approved Restylane also contains hyaluronic acid, although not as much as Juvederm. Restylane is ideal for plumping cheeks, providing fullness to lips and diminishing moderate to severe lines and wrinkles. Because it is somewhat heavier than Juvederm, it is better for use under the eyes or any part of the face in which you see volume. Its heaviness makes it less likely to travel once injected. You see immediate results, and the effects last about six months.

This clear, injectable gel is safe for most users, with the exception of those diagnosed with bleeding disorders. Rarely, users may experience a slight reaction at the injection site.
